Buy 2, Give 1 is back this year!

|| May 8, 2015

The Buy 2, Give 1 Program (B2G1) is back as part of the Original Farmers' Market at Indianapolis City Market!

The hunger relief initiative started during the 2014 season as way for shoppers and producers to give back to the downtown community - specifically Wheeler Mission Ministries. During the 2014 Original Farmers' Market season, the B2G1 Program raised over 15,000 pounds of produce!

How the Program Works
1. "Buy 2:" buy a few extras - tomatoes, heads of lettuce, dozens of eggs, loaves of bread, etc. - whatever food items you'd like!
2. "Give 1:" donate your extras!
3. All food items are weighed and donated to one of three downtown Wheeler Mission locations: Shelter for Men, Men's Residential Center, and the Shelter for Women and Children.

2015 Original Farmers' Market Season
During the first Original Farmers' Market of the season, shoppers and producers donated 60 lbs. of leafy greens, romaine lettuces, tomatoes, and eggs! Not enough time to shop and donate? We accept cash donations as well. Cash donations are used to shop the farmers' market for products that haven't yet been donated that particular day.

The City Market has set a goal of 20,000 lbs of produce for this year's season and we hope you'll consider donate fresh produce from the farmers' market or a few extra dollars for us to shop for you!
